OrthoPediatrics is a medical device company focused exclusively on improving care for pediatric orthopedic patients. The company develops specialized orthopedic solutions for children affected by musculoskeletal conditions, with a mission centered on supporting better treatment outcomes and quality of life.

Founded as the first company dedicated solely to pediatric orthopedics, OrthoPediatrics has focused since 2006 on creating products and services tailored to young patients. The company works with surgeons, healthcare professionals, engineers, and employees worldwide to address the challenges of treating growing children.

The company offers more than 70 orthopedic systems across three major categories within the pediatric orthopedics market, providing solutions for trauma, deformity correction, external fixation, scoliosis, sports medicine, and non-metallic implants.

Trauma Solutions

Children frequently experience orthopedic injuries through sports, recreation, accidents, and daily activities. OrthoPediatrics develops trauma products specifically for pediatric patients, including plates, screws, nails, and fixation systems used by surgeons to treat fractures and support recovery.

The Pediatric Trauma portfolio includes the Pediatric Plating Platform™, Pediatric Nailing Platform, DF2® Brace, Free-Gliding SCFE Screw System™, flexible and rigid nail systems, cannulated screws, hardware removal solutions, and resorbable implant technologies. These products are developed to address the anatomical and clinical considerations of growing children.

Deformity Correction Solutions

OrthoPediatrics provides anatomically focused solutions for correcting musculoskeletal deformities affecting the hand, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and foot.

The portfolio includes the Pediatric Plating Platform™ | Hip (Deformity), Fassier-Duval Telescopic Intramedullary System®, GIRO™ Growth Modulation System, LolliPOP™ System, PediPlates®, 3D-Printed Cut Guides, bone void fillers, osteotomy systems, and specialized fixation solutions.

These technologies support procedures involving conditions such as osteogenesis imperfecta, skeletal dysplasia, limb deformities, and other complex pediatric orthopedic challenges.

External Fixation Solutions

OrthoPediatrics’ External Fixation portfolio supports fracture stabilization, osteotomies, limb lengthening, and deformity correction in pediatric and young adult patients.

The portfolio includes the DRIVE Rail, ORTHEX Large Bone Circular Fixator, ORTHEX Small Bone Circular Fixator, Mini Rails, and hardware removal systems. These solutions provide surgeons with fixation options for upper and lower extremity procedures while addressing the needs of growing patients.

Pega Partnership

Through its partnership with Pega Medical, OrthoPediatrics has expanded its pediatric orthopedic portfolio with specialized trauma and deformity solutions for children with rare bone diseases and complex conditions.

Products include the Fassier-Duval Telescopic Intramedullary System®, SLIM™ (Simple Locking Intramedullary System), GAP Nail™ Endo-Exo Medullary System, Free-Gliding SCFE Screw System™, GIRO™ Growth Modulation System, Hinge Pediatric Plating System™, DPOS™ Osteotomy System, and LolliPOP™ System.

These technologies provide surgeons with tools for fracture fixation, guided growth, deformity correction, and long-bone stabilization.

Scoliosis Solutions

OrthoPediatrics offers fusion and non-fusion solutions for pediatric scoliosis developed in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons.

The portfolio includes the VerteGlide™ System for guided growth treatment, ApiFix® for select adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) cases, RESPONSE™ fusion systems, RESPONSE™ Rib and Pelvic System, 7D FLASH™ Navigation System, FIREFLY® patient-specific 3D-printed models and drill guides, and BandLoc fixation technology.

These solutions address the challenges of treating spinal conditions in growing patients.

Sports Medicine Solutions

OrthoPediatrics develops sports medicine products for pediatric athletes experiencing common injuries such as ACL and MPFL tears.

The MPFL Reconstruction System features bioresorbable implants and specialized instruments designed for anatomical MPFL reconstruction, helping surgeons treat ligament injuries in young athletes.

Non-Metallic Implant Solutions

OrthoPediatrics offers non-metallic implant technologies through OSSIO® and Bioretec ActivaScrew, providing alternatives for orthopedic fixation and bone healing procedures.

The OSSIOfiber® portfolio includes compression screws, suture anchors, threaded trimmable nails, fixation nails, and compression staples. The Bioretec ActivaScrew uses a resorbable polymer material with more than 400,000 implants to date and is designed to reduce the need for secondary implant removal procedures.

MRI Safety Information

OrthoPediatrics implants are manufactured using established orthopedic materials, including 316L stainless steel, Biodur 108, Ti-6Al-4V, and cobalt chrome alloys. Testing has shown that magnetic force on implants in commercial MRI systems is approximately 25% of the force caused by gravity, indicating that implant movement during MRI scans is not expected.

Most implants are secured to bone through screws or other fixation methods, providing additional stability. OrthoPediatrics has not received reports of patient discomfort related to radiofrequency heating of implants. The company continues internal testing for devices without specific MRI conditions listed on product labeling and updates instructions for use when regulatory clearance is received.
