GOGOX is a technology-based logistics platform that connects businesses and individuals with drivers who provide delivery services within cities. Through a mobile application and digital booking system, customers arrange transportation for goods while drivers receive delivery requests in real time. This system supports urban logistics where companies and individuals often require fast transport for packages, business inventory and household items.

The company began operations in 2013 in Hong Kong under the name GoGoVan. Founders Steven Lam Hoi-yuen, Nick Tang Kuen-wai and Reeve Kwan Chun-man created the service after identifying inefficiencies in traditional van booking systems that relied on dispatch call centers. Customers frequently waited long periods to arrange a vehicle, while the new platform allowed drivers and delivery requests to connect through a mobile interface within seconds.

As the service expanded, the platform attracted more users because it simplified the process of arranging transport in crowded cities. Instead of contacting dispatch operators, customers could enter delivery details through the application and connect with nearby drivers. The digital system shortened waiting time and created a direct link between vehicle owners and people who required delivery services.

Over time the platform moved beyond van hailing and developed a wider range of logistics services. Businesses use the system for same day deliveries, scheduled shipments and transportation of goods across city districts. Individual users also rely on the platform when they need to move furniture, transport appliances or send packages across metropolitan areas.

From Lunch Box Deliveries to a Logistics Platform

The idea behind GOGOX emerged from a delivery challenge that the founders encountered while arranging lunch box transportation. At that time, they relied on call center dispatch services to organize vans, yet the system struggled when delivery requests increased. One morning a large number of orders arrived and the founders found it difficult to coordinate drivers and deliveries. The experience revealed the limitations of the traditional dispatch structure.

The founders first experimented with a messaging group that allowed drivers to respond quickly when delivery requests appeared. This method improved communication but proved insufficient once the number of orders expanded. A digital platform then appeared as a logical step because it could match drivers and customers automatically.

This concept led to the creation of GoGoVan, a mobile application that connected customers and drivers through a digital marketplace. Early adoption in Hong Kong brought thousands of drivers and users onto the platform. As more delivery requests flowed through the system, the company gained momentum and began expanding into other cities across Asia.

The service gradually entered Singapore, mainland China and several additional markets. Each new city increased the number of drivers in the network and added more delivery activity to the platform. Through this expansion the company evolved from a local startup into a regional logistics platform.

From GoGoVan to GOGOX

Several years after launch, the company introduced a new brand identity. In 2020, GoGoVan changed its name to GOGOX to reflect a broader range of logistics services beyond van bookings. The earlier name referred mainly to van hailing, while the new brand represented a platform capable of supporting many forms of goods transport.

The change also reflected the company’s growth in enterprise logistics services. Corporate customers and e commerce merchants began using the platform to arrange deliveries across city networks. Businesses gained digital tools that allowed them to manage large volumes of delivery orders while tracking shipments through a single interface.

Another important development occurred in 2017 when GoGoVan merged with 58 Suyun, a freight service connected to the Chinese online marketplace 58.com. The merger expanded the platform’s reach in mainland China and added hundreds of cities to the company’s operating network. Through this development the platform strengthened its presence across the region.

These developments allowed the company to move beyond the early stage of van bookings and develop a wider logistics network serving multiple industries. Technology remained the link that connected drivers, businesses and individual users across cities.

Connecting Customers with Millions of Drivers

A major element of the GOGOX business model involves its network of independent drivers who accept delivery orders through the platform. Drivers operate their own vehicles, including vans, trucks or motorcycles depending on the size of the shipment. Customers place delivery requests through the app, and the system matches them with drivers located nearby.

This structure allows the company to operate without maintaining a large vehicle fleet. Instead, the platform coordinates delivery activity between drivers and customers while collecting service fees for completed orders. The company also generates revenue from enterprise logistics services and additional programs designed for drivers and corporate users.

Over time the network expanded to millions of registered drivers across Asia. The platform now operates in hundreds of cities and serves a broad mix of customers that includes individuals, small businesses and multinational companies.

The scale of this network allows customers to arrange transportation quickly when goods must move across a city. Because drivers operate in many districts, delivery requests can often be fulfilled soon after they are submitted through the mobile application.

Supporting Urban Logistics Across Asia

GOGOX now operates in several Asian markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, mainland China, South Korea, India and Vietnam. Expansion across these regions created a logistics network that connects hundreds of cities through a shared digital system.

Within this network businesses arrange shipments between warehouses, retail outlets and customer addresses. E commerce merchants rely on the platform when they require fast delivery after receiving online orders. The system also supports scheduled logistics services that allow companies to plan deliveries in advance.

Individual users form another important group of customers. People use the service when they need to move furniture, transport appliances or deliver packages to family members across the city. Through the mobile application they can select vehicle size, schedule pickup times and communicate with drivers during the delivery process.

Digital commerce continues to reshape urban logistics across Asia and demand for fast city deliveries remains strong. Platforms such as GOGOX show how technology links drivers with businesses and individuals through a shared digital network that handles transportation of goods across busy metropolitan areas. By connecting millions of drivers with customers across many cities, the platform plays an important role in urban delivery systems throughout the region.
