NEW YORK, May 23, 2025 McGraw Hill is expanding its career and technical education (CTE) portfolio with new technology and computing programs aimed at equipping students with the skills needed for a rapidly evolving workforce. The company’s latest offerings emphasize both technical expertise and soft skills to prepare learners for diverse career paths.

CTE has grown in importance in the U.S. and globally as a way to develop talent in areas such as computer science, advanced manufacturing, and health sciences. Sean Ryan, president of McGraw Hill’s School Group, said the programs are designed to engage students early and bridge the gap between education and employment.

McGraw Hill’s expanded portfolio features more than a dozen computer science courses developed in partnership with Binary Logic, covering topics from basic coding to advanced theory. These courses span elementary through high school and include emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and robotics. The curriculum has received recognition from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).

Patrick Keeney, senior director of product management and partnerships for CTE at McGraw Hill, said early exposure to computer science is crucial. He noted the offerings allow students to engage with robotics starting in first grade and navigate AI concepts with an emphasis on ethics.

The portfolio also includes new or updated courses in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, accounting, health science, and digital technology for middle school students. McGraw Hill has integrated digital tools such as virtual simulations and interactive activities into the coursework.

A notable feature is the McGraw Hill Career Center, a free digital hub within all CTE courses that allows students to explore nearly 1,000 occupations and receive personalized guidance based on interest inventories.

Patrick emphasized the focus on soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, and time management, saying these are vital across industries and naturally integrated into the hands-on nature of CTE programs.

Our CTE programs are designed to inspire career exploration beginning even before high school.
