Sleek Eases Business Setup and Compliance for Entrepreneurs Across Asia

New businesses in Asia face a stack of paperwork and opaque processes. Sleek brings a digital lens to company setup, governance, accounting and e-signatures. The platform lets entrepreneurs register entities, file documents and stay compliant, all in a few clicks.

Co-founded in 2017 by Julien Labruyere and Adrien Barthel, Sleek launched in Singapore before expanding to Hong Kong in 2019. The company now deals with over 3,500 firms across both markets, offering services that range from company incorporation to payroll, tax filing and digital signature tools.

A Modern Answer to Paperwork Pain

Sleek was born out of frustration with slow, paper-heavy company secretarial services. Julien, a former fintech executive, saw firsthand how manual processes slowed growth and siphoned entrepreneurial energy. He set out to digitise the experience—so business owners could focus on product, clients and innovation rather than compliance logs.

Its cloud-based platform features an e-signature tool called SleekSign, payroll and tax filing services, and a business account. Every step is intended to be handled online with minimal clicks. Clients describe setup times measured in hours rather than weeks.

Green by Default

Sleek has made environment-conscious decisions central to its business. Beginning in late 2020, it began offsetting its digital carbon footprint—including document printing and server usage—by funding mangrove reforestation in East Java. The firm now holds carbon-neutral status for its APAC operations and has signalled ambitions to go carbon-positive by 2030.

Julien explains that sustainability isn’t a side project. Anything Sleek digitises instantly cuts down on paper waste. He believes that digital tools should carry less environmental cost, especially in sectors entrenched in paper-based bureaucracy.

Transparent, Customer-First Pricing

The founding team chose clarity over confusion in how it charges clients. Companies pay flat monthly rates for packages that include incorporation, secretarial services, accounting and tax filing. There are no hidden fees for statements or forms. That structure resonates with startups and SMEs who value budgeting certainty.

Customer satisfaction reportedly sits above 98 percent. Clients actively recommend Sleek for its mix of automation and prompt, human support. One founder said Sleek “minimized manual processes and time spent on financial close” while providing “quality data and insights.” Another praised Sleek’s help navigating company formation as a foreigner.

Growth Backed by Strategic Funding

In late 2020, Sleek raised a $4 million seed round led by Enterprise Singapore’s SEEDS Capital, plus follow-on investments from regional funds. It supports further market expansion along with deeper product development, including payroll and corporate insurance services.

The funding reflects confidence in Sleek’s model: a cloud-powered compliance toolkit built for Asia’s fast-growing digital economy. And with expansion to Hong Kong complete, CEO Labruyere has said that markets such as Australia, the UK and North America are being closely evaluated.

A Focus on People and Process

Sleek’s growth is neither gimmicky nor random—it reflects a methodical, customer-driven model. The team values diversity, with over 50 percent female staff and representation from more than a dozen nationalities. That culture mirrors its product ethos: simple, inclusive and tuned to founder needs.

The company also supports small firms and entrepreneurs through free e-signature tools and integration with banking services. It plans to add insurance, lending and more SMB tools—if and when those services follow the same clarity-first principle.

Remaining the Reliable Choice

As fintech expands in Asia, Sleek stands out by avoiding flashy claims and focusing on utility. It prioritises features that reduce friction rather than add noise. The result is a steady, reliable partner as businesses scale.

Julien often says Sleek is "boring by design"—and he means it as praise. Simple systems, matched billing and green credentials make it a stable anchor in an unpredictable market.

Sleek enables entrepreneurs to start, grow and comply with confidence—all from one intuitive interface. It delivers value not through speed alone but through clarity, control and sustainability. For founders building in Asia, Sleek offers the tools to excel without administrative friction.
