SafetyCulture is a global technology company that empowers working teams to drive daily improvements across their organization. Founded with the belief that frontline workers should have access to tools that drive improvement, the company developed iAuditor, a platform that enables teams to conduct inspections, identify issues, and track progress in real time. Expanding beyond checklists, the company introduced additional solutions that enhance training, equipment maintenance, and incident reporting. By providing businesses with actionable data, better decision-making becomes possible at every level. Companies across industries rely on SafetyCulture’s products to strengthen accountability and build stronger safety cultures. Investments in artificial intelligence and automation continue to refine existing tools while unlocking new possibilities for users.

In Conversation with Kelly Vohs, CEO of SafetyCulture

SafetyCulture has grown significantly over the years. What drives that growth?

A deep understanding of what frontline workers need drives everything we do. Businesses want solutions that simplify safety and quality processes rather than add complexity. We build technology that feels intuitive while delivering measurable improvements. Growth comes from staying focused on the real problems businesses face and continuously improving the tools we offer.

iAuditor remains a key part of the business. What makes it effective?

iAuditor gives teams a structured way to conduct inspections and gather insights without unnecessary friction. The simplicity of the platform encourages consistent use, which leads to better data collection. Over time, businesses gain a clearer view of risks and opportunities, allowing them to take proactive steps. Continuous refinement based on user feedback keeps the platform aligned with workplace needs.

What challenges come with scaling a technology company focused on workplace safety?

The challenge is ensuring that as we scale, the personal connection to the problem we are solving remains strong. It is easy for a company to grow and lose sight of why it started. We stay engaged with users, listen to feedback, and ensure our products evolve with workplace demands. The technology must always remain practical and easy to adopt.

What role does artificial intelligence play in SafetyCulture’s products?

AI helps businesses work smarter by identifying patterns and automating tasks that traditionally required manual input. The goal is not to replace people but to give them better tools. By analyzing inspection results, AI can highlight trends and suggest actions before small issues become big problems. This allows companies to stay ahead and respond faster.

How do you approach leadership in a fast-growing company?

Leadership requires clarity and adaptability. Teams need to understand the vision, but they also need the space to execute it in their own way. I focus on setting direction and removing barriers so that people can do their best work. Growth brings new challenges, but an open and learning-oriented mindset makes those challenges easier to tackle.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned as CEO?

Success comes from listening more than speaking. Every great idea starts with understanding a problem deeply. The best solutions emerge when teams feel empowered to share ideas and experiment. I have learned that no one has all the answers, but the right team asking the right questions can accomplish incredible things.

What advice would you give to entrepreneurs looking to build technology-driven businesses?

Focus on solving a real problem. Too many businesses start with a product idea rather than a clear understanding of what people actually need. Be relentless about testing assumptions and listening to users. Surround yourself with great people who believe in the mission and are willing to adapt as things change. Growth will come if you stay focused on delivering real value.
