M2M Connectivity, a provider of IoT hardware, has joined forces with communications vendor Hypha to revolutionize emergency satellite connectivity. By combining the expertise of Hypha in mission-critical communications and M2M's IoT hardware, the partnership aims to integrate Starlink and Peplink's technology to address reliability issues in existing voice-based systems.

Hypha specializes in public safety communications and is trusted by multiple agencies. The collaboration between M2M and Hypha will leverage Starlink and Peplink's SpeedFusion technology to create a robust and redundant network infrastructure.

Peplink SpeedFusion allows the bonding of multiple networks, including cellular, satellite, and wired internet connections, prioritizing time-sensitive data and utilizing vehicles as nodes.

SpeedFusion prioritizes time-sensitive data and uses vehicles as communication nodes. This enables agencies to transmit images and radio communications reliably.

Hypha CEO Neil Jamieson noted that using vehicles as nodes with multiple connections like LTE and Starlink requires intelligent routers and Peplink to ensure connectivity everywhere.

Darren Moroney, vice president at M2M Connectivity said, “Our partnership with Hypha is a landmark moment for critical communication. We are paving the way for a new generation of unbreakable networks capable of delivering ultra-fast, reliable connectivity in any environment.”

Jamieson said combining the companies' expertise in IoT, network bonding, Starlink, and mesh networking will provide robust, unbreakable data links for agencies.

M2M and Hypha have worked together before, partnering last year with broadcaster Level Horizons on a drone videography system using Peplink and Starlink for the T20 World Cup.

Starlink itself continues forming partnerships in Australia, signing deals with various local companies to provide satellite-based broadband services.

The M2M-Hypha collaboration aims to extend Starlink's reach into emergency and public safety applications, where reliable communications can help first responders operate efficiently and save lives.
