My professional journey has taken an exciting turn from being a professor and startup advisor to becoming a globally recognized influencer in digital transformation and social media. It all began in 2014 when I decided to explore social media channels more actively, starting with X (formerly Twitter).
I immersed myself in the community, connecting with successful entrepreneurs and digital marketing experts. By consistently creating and sharing content, I was able to build a robust online presence, which led to my recognition as the №65 B2B Marketing Influencer by Onalytica.
From there, my journey gained momentum. In 2017, I was named among the Top 100 Virtual Reality Influencers, followed by recognition as one of the Top 100 Digital Transformation Influencers in 2018. Joining Thinkers360 in December 2018 marked a significant milestone; by 2019, I was honored as the №6 Global AI Influencer. In 2020, I reached another peak, being recognized as the №1 Global Marketing Thought Leader.
These achievements opened many doors for me and solidified my position as a dominant global influencer. My educational background has been a foundational element in shaping my career in digital transformation and marketing leadership. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networks and Systems, a Master’s degree in International Economic Relations, and a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management. Additionally, I have certificates in Business Planning, Analysis, and Administration, as well as in Business English.
While I believe that my formal education contributes about 20% to my success, the remaining 80% stems from my commitment to self-education. For many years, I have dedicated myself to reading extensively — often up to 500 pages a day. This habit has allowed me to stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the industry.
Being a lifelong learner is at the core of who I am. I actively seek out knowledge from my colleagues and industry peers, valuing their insights and experiences. This continuous learning mindset not only enhances my expertise but also fuels my ability to adapt and innovate in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Ultimately, my educational background has provided a solid foundation, but it’s my relentless pursuit of knowledge and practical experience that has truly driven my success in digital transformation and marketing leadership.
What advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs looking to turn their passion into a successful business?
My key piece of advice is to become consumer-centric and focus on being in the listening business rather than the talking business.
Too often, entrepreneurs approach social media and marketing as broadcasters, sending the same message across multiple platforms without considering the unique needs and preferences of their audiences. This one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t pay off.
Instead, prioritize listening to your consumers. Engage with them to understand their pain points, desires, and feedback. By actively responding to their needs and demonstrating that you genuinely care, you will build trust and foster strong relationships.
Creating a dialogue rather than a monologue allows you to tailor your offerings and marketing strategies to what your audience truly values. This consumer-centric mindset not only enhances customer loyalty but also positions your business for sustainable growth.
