What inspired you to start Boundless?
I spent years working in companies that wanted to expand internationally but struggled with the legal and payroll complexities that come with hiring in different countries. Setting up entities, managing compliance, and ensuring employees received the right benefits was incredibly complicated. I knew there had to be a better way, so we built Boundless to simplify the process and give businesses an easier path to hiring globally.
What were the biggest challenges in getting Boundless off the ground?
Building trust was one of the biggest challenges. Businesses need to feel confident that their international hiring process is legally sound and that employees are taken care of properly. We had to prove that we could handle compliance, payroll, and benefits without any gaps or risks. There was also a lot of work involved in developing the right infrastructure to support companies across multiple countries. Every country has different labor laws, so making sure everything was covered took a lot of effort.
How does Boundless help businesses grow?
By removing barriers to hiring internationally, companies can focus on finding the best people rather than getting stuck in legal and administrative processes. Instead of limiting hiring to one country, businesses can build diverse teams with talent from anywhere. That kind of flexibility allows companies to scale faster and enter new markets without unnecessary complications.
What is the biggest misconception about hiring internationally?
Many businesses assume it is too complicated or expensive. While setting up foreign entities and handling compliance on your own can be difficult, that is not the only option. Using an employer of record like Boundless makes the process far more manageable. Hiring internationally is actually within reach for many businesses—they just need the right support.
What advice would you give to companies thinking about hiring remote employees in different countries?
Start small. Hiring just one international employee is a great way to test the process and see what works. You do not need to commit to hiring an entire global team overnight. Once you get comfortable with international hiring, expanding becomes much easier. Also, work with a trusted provider to ensure compliance from the start. Cutting corners can create legal risks that are difficult to fix later.
What motivates you as a leader?
I love helping businesses grow in ways they did not think were possible. Seeing companies go from hesitant about international hiring to building fully remote teams is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that we make global employment accessible for businesses of all sizes keeps me excited about what we are building.
If you were not running Boundless, what would you be doing?
I have always been drawn to solving problems that make life easier for businesses. If I were not working on Boundless, I would probably still be involved in building tools that help companies scale efficiently. But Boundless is my focus, and there is still so much more we can do to improve global employment.
