In Conversation with Amir Nehemia, Co-Founder & CEO of Connecteam

Connecteam has changed how businesses manage their teams. What was the inspiration behind starting the company?

When we started, we saw a major gap in workforce management. So many businesses rely on deskless employees, yet the tools available were either outdated or simply didn’t work for them. We wanted to create something that would make their jobs easier while improving efficiency for managers. It was about giving businesses control over their operations in a way that felt natural and easy to use.

What challenges did you face when building Connecteam?

One of the biggest challenges was making sure the platform was powerful but still simple to use. Businesses don’t have time for complicated systems. They need something that works right away. Balancing advanced features with an intuitive design took a lot of effort, but it was necessary to create something that truly helps companies run better.

How do you ensure that the platform remains user-friendly while still offering robust functionality?

It starts with listening to customers. We constantly gather feedback to understand what they need and how they interact with the platform. Our goal is to remove friction wherever possible. Every update is designed to make tasks easier, not more complicated. If something feels too complex, we rethink it.

What makes Connecteam different from other workforce management solutions?

A big part of it is the focus on deskless employees. Most management tools are built for office workers, which means they don’t always fit the needs of businesses with mobile teams. Connecteam is designed from the ground up for companies that need a flexible, mobile-first solution. Another key difference is customization. Every business operates differently, and our platform adapts to those unique needs instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all approach.

How important is employee engagement in today’s workplace?

It’s more important than ever. Employees who feel engaged are more productive, stay longer, and contribute more to the company’s success. For deskless workers, engagement can be challenging because they’re not sitting in an office where culture naturally develops. That’s why we built features that help businesses stay connected with their teams, even when they’re spread out across different locations.

How does Connecteam help companies improve communication?

Communication is one of the biggest pain points for businesses with mobile teams. Important messages get lost in emails, employees don’t always have access to company systems, and information doesn’t always flow smoothly. Connecteam solves this by providing a direct, mobile-friendly communication channel. Managers can send updates instantly, employees can respond in real-time, and everyone stays informed. No more lost messages or delayed responses.

What advice would you give to businesses looking to improve their operations?

Start by identifying the biggest pain points. What’s slowing things down? Where are mistakes happening? Once you understand those areas, look for solutions that address them directly. The right tools should integrate smoothly into daily operations without adding extra complexity. And always listen to employees—often, they have the best insights into what needs to change.

What keeps you motivated as a leader?

Seeing the impact Connecteam has on businesses is what drives me. When customers tell us how much easier their work has become, how their teams are more connected, or how they’ve saved time and money, that’s what makes it all worthwhile. Building something that genuinely helps people is incredibly rewarding.

If you weren’t leading Connecteam, what would you be doing?

I have always been passionate about problem-solving. If I weren’t here, I’d probably be working on another project that focuses on improving how businesses operate. But Connecteam is where my energy is right now, and I’m excited about what’s ahead.

How do you see workforce management evolving in the next few years?

Technology is going to play an even bigger role. Businesses are moving away from manual processes and looking for smarter, automated solutions. The focus will be on making things easier, not just more advanced. AI and automation will help streamline operations even further. But at the core, it’s still about people. Companies will need to invest in tools that not only improve efficiency but also make work more engaging and rewarding for employees.
