BT2, or Better Together Brain Trust, is a turnkey provider of EV charging, energy efficiency solutions, and comprehensive electrification services. The company stands out for its ability to manage projects from design to implementation and ongoing maintenance. Founded by Shonté Davidson and Nicole Voudren, BT2 has built a reputation for combining technical expertise with a practical understanding of client needs. The addition of David Mason to the leadership team strengthened their capacity to deliver projects that are both innovative and reliable.
Shonté recalls the moment she met Nicole Voudren during BECMA’s inaugural EV Kickstarter. “From the first conversation, we knew our skills complemented each other,” Shonté says. “We realised we were better together, and that belief has guided every decision since.” For Shonté, building BT2 was never just about creating another company in the green energy space. It was about creating an organisation capable of seeing the entire project lifecycle clearly and executing it efficiently.
From Vision to Execution
Nicole Voudren explains that the team always focused on practical involvement. “We wanted to be more than consultants,” she says. “Our goal was to be involved at every stage, ensuring projects were completed successfully and could operate smoothly over time. When David joined the team, our ability to cover design, execution, and maintenance became complete.”
The leadership team brings over 40 years of combined experience in the energy sector, with half of that time spent inside utilities. Shonté notes that this background allows BT2 to anticipate challenges and design solutions that are both innovative and feasible. “Working within utilities taught us how energy systems operate and where the gaps exist. That knowledge informs every project we take on,” she explains.
Tailored Solutions for Every Client
Shonté highlights BT2’s holistic approach as a key differentiator. “Many companies focus on one piece of the puzzle. We see the project as a whole. Planning, infrastructure, installation, and long-term support are all part of the same process. That perspective ensures clients get solutions that last.”
The company is committed to making the transition to electrification seamless for clients. Shonté explains that BT2 works with organisations of all sizes. “Whether a small business is adding a single charger or a city is planning a large-scale rollout, we tailor our services to meet each client’s specific needs. We remove the friction and make the process simple and efficient.”
Their industry experience informs not only execution but strategic thinking. “Having been inside utilities, we know the limitations and possibilities,” Shonté says. “That allows us to innovate responsibly. We can push boundaries without losing sight of what is practical and effective.”
Building for the Future
BT2 has already completed several notable projects combining EV infrastructure and energy efficiency upgrades. Shonté attributes success to a combination of expertise and relationship-building. “Clients trust us because we communicate clearly and consistently. Technology can solve problems, but strong collaboration ensures solutions endure,” she says.
The company culture reflects the founders’ priorities. Shonté emphasises curiosity, adaptability, and continuous learning as core values. “Green energy evolves quickly. Staying ahead of trends and technologies is part of our DNA. Our team approaches every challenge as an opportunity to improve and innovate.”
BT2 plans to expand into regions where electrification is emerging. Shonté notes that demand for EV infrastructure and energy efficiency solutions is growing rapidly. “We want to help shape the market, not just respond to it. Our goal is to lead the conversation and provide solutions that make a real difference for businesses and communities.”
Shonté also highlights the importance of mentorship and knowledge sharing within the sector. “Connecting with emerging talent and like-minded organisations helps us build a stronger ecosystem. We thrive when others succeed, and we want to contribute to a sustainable energy landscape.”
The leadership team offers advice to entrepreneurs entering the green energy sector. Shonté says, “Complementary skills matter. Find partners who challenge and support you. Understand the market, but never lose sight of the people you serve. Technology is important, but impact comes from applying it wisely.”
Nicole adds that perseverance is essential. “Energy projects are often complex and heavily regulated. Navigating those challenges requires resilience. But seeing a project come to life, knowing it delivers real value, is incredibly rewarding.”
Shonté emphasises that BT2 integrates innovation without hype. “We focus on solutions that make a measurable difference. Clients appreciate honesty and clarity more than buzzwords. Staying grounded in practical outcomes has built our reputation.”
Shonté reflects on the journey so far. “We started as two people with a shared belief in the potential of green energy. Today, we are a team capable of transforming projects and communities. The journey has been challenging but deeply rewarding. Our ambition is to keep pushing forward, helping businesses and cities thrive sustainably.”
The company’s trajectory suggests BT2 will continue to influence the green energy landscape. Their approach balances practical implementation, long-term value, and unwavering commitment to clients. For organisations ready to embrace electrification, BT2 offers solutions backed by experience, integrity, and a clear vision for a sustainable future.
