Chronic neurological disorders affect millions of people worldwide and often create long-term challenges that impact sleep, daily activities, and overall quality of life. Many patients continue to face limitations with existing treatment options, including inadequate symptom control, medication-related challenges, and the need for therapies that better fit into their everyday lives.
Wearable medical technologies are creating new possibilities for managing chronic conditions by enabling personalized, non-invasive, and continuous approaches to care. By combining advances in medical device engineering, neuroscience, and consumer technology, wearable therapeutics are helping create treatment options that prioritize both clinical effectiveness and patient experience.
Neuromodulation has emerged as a promising approach within neurological care, using targeted stimulation techniques to influence nerve activity and address conditions that have historically been difficult to manage. The development of prescription-grade wearable therapies represents a shift toward more flexible treatment options that allow patients to incorporate care into their daily routines while supporting improved symptom management.
Noctrix Health, Inc. is a medical technology company developing clinically validated wearable therapeutics designed to address the unmet needs of people living with chronic medical conditions, particularly chronic neurological disorders. The company brings together experienced medical device professionals, neuroscientists, and engineers from the consumer technology industry to develop prescription-grade therapies that combine clinical performance with an intuitive user experience. Through its wearable therapeutic solutions, Noctrix Health focuses on improving the management of chronic neurological conditions and enhancing patient quality of life.
Nidra™: A Wearable Therapy for Restless Legs Syndrome
Noctrix Health’s Nidra™ is a non-invasive, drug-free wearable therapy designed for adults living with primary moderate-to-severe Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), particularly those who continue to experience symptoms despite existing treatment options. The prescription-based system is designed to alleviate RLS symptoms without disrupting sleep, providing patients with a wearable approach to managing a condition that can significantly affect rest and daily functioning.
Nidra is powered by Noctrix Health’s proprietary Tonic Motor Activation® (TOMAC®) Therapy, a neurostimulation technology that delivers targeted stimulation to specific nerve pathways associated with leg movement. The therapy is designed to reduce the uncomfortable sensations and urge to move commonly experienced by people with RLS, while allowing patients to personalize treatment settings based on their individual needs.
Designed for use during periods of rest and sleep, Nidra offers a flexible treatment experience without implanted components or medication-based intervention. The wearable system is adjustable and sleep-compatible, allowing patients to integrate therapy into their routines. Clinical studies have shown that Nidra can provide symptom relief in as little as 30 minutes for some patients.
Nidra’s development is supported by clinical research, including more than 10,000 nights of clinical data, seven peer-reviewed publications, 14 conference presentations, and five completed clinical trials. This evidence base supports Noctrix Health’s focus on developing wearable therapeutic solutions for people living with chronic neurological conditions.
By combining neuromodulation, wearable technology, and clinical research, Nidra provides a non-invasive approach for managing RLS symptoms and supporting better sleep and quality of life for patients affected by this chronic neurological condition.
