Founded by Harry Rowland, Ph.D., and Anthony Nunez, M.D., Endotronix was established to improve care for heart failure (HF) patients through pulmonary artery (PA) sensing technology. Rowland served as the company’s co-founder, CEO, and President, leading its efforts to develop innovative solutions for heart failure management.

The company’s journey has been marked by several significant milestones, including the first-in-human implant of the Cordella PA Sensor as part of the SIRONA trial in 2017, followed by the first implant in the SIRONA 2 feasibility trial in 2019. In 2020, Endotronix achieved the first implant in the PROACTIVE-HF pivotal trial and reached 500 Cordella PA Sensor implants worldwide in 2023.

In March 2024, Endotronix announced six-month primary endpoint data from the PROACTIVE-HF trial at THT 2024, further advancing its clinical progress. In June 2024, the company received FDA approval for the Cordella PA Sensor. In August 2024, Edwards Lifesciences acquired Endotronix, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey.

Following the acquisition, Harry Rowland transitioned to his role as CEO of VahatiCor, continuing his focus on advancing cardiovascular innovation. Having previously served as co-founder, CEO, and President of Endotronix, Rowland brings extensive experience in cardiovascular medical technology development.

Cordella: Clinician

Endotronix developed the Cordella Pulmonary Artery (PA) Sensor System to support comprehensive heart failure (HF) management by providing clinicians with actionable insights into patient condition. The system is designed around PA pressure-guided therapy, enabling healthcare providers to monitor trends in PA pressure, identify early signs of worsening heart failure, and optimize medical therapy before patients experience significant deterioration.

By integrating remote monitoring, patient engagement tools, and clinical workflow support, Cordella enables a proactive approach to HF management. The platform allows clinicians to review key health data, assess patient status, communicate with patients through a secure app, and make informed treatment adjustments based on individual needs.

For patients with NYHA Class III heart failure, PA pressure-guided therapy with Cordella has demonstrated improvements in quality of life and supported low heart failure hospitalization rates. By combining advanced sensing technology with a scalable care management approach, Endotronix enables healthcare providers to deliver more personalized and effective heart failure care.

Cordella: Patient

For patients living with NYHA Class III heart failure, Endotronix’s Cordella Pulmonary Artery (PA) Sensor and HF System is designed to simplify heart failure management at home. The platform connects patients with their care teams while providing vital heart health insights, including early indicators of congestion.

The easy-to-use system enables patients to securely share daily health updates, helping clinicians make informed care decisions, adjust medications between office visits, and support more active patient engagement.

Patient feedback reflects the platform’s usability and value, with many Cordella users reporting that they appreciate access to their health information, find the system easy to use, and believe PA pressure monitoring and resulting care have a positive impact on their health.

Supported by clinical evidence, Cordella has demonstrated the ability to improve heart failure management while maintaining a strong safety profile with a low complication rate. By enabling physicians to monitor changes in patient condition remotely and make timely medication adjustments, the system supports a more proactive approach to heart failure care.

With simplified setup and daily use, Cordella helps patients manage their condition from home while staying connected with their healthcare providers. The platform represents Endotronix’s commitment to improving heart failure care through connected technology and patient-centered solutions.
