Stroke and vascular diseases remain among the most urgent challenges in healthcare, where rapid diagnosis, timely intervention, and effective treatment can determine patient outcomes. As the need for more accessible and efficient care grows, medical technology companies are developing new solutions to address gaps across the patient care journey — from emergency procedures to long-term management.
Advances in neurovascular and endovascular technologies are changing how physicians treat blood clots and vessel blockages. Thrombectomy procedures, which involve removing clots from blood vessels, have become an important treatment option for patients experiencing acute ischemic stroke and other thromboembolic disorders. However, improving procedural speed, expanding access, and delivering consistent results remain important priorities in vascular medicine.
The next generation of stroke and vascular care is being shaped by integrated technology platforms that bring together advanced catheter systems, aspiration technologies, clinical research, and emerging robotics. These developments are designed to help physicians treat challenging anatomy, perform procedures with greater precision, and deliver timely care when every minute matters. As healthcare continues to prioritize efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility, new endovascular technologies are creating new possibilities for patients facing life-threatening vascular diseases.
Imperative Care is a medical technology company developing technologies for the treatment of stroke and vascular disease. Founded in 2015, the company focuses on addressing unmet needs across the patient care continuum through a portfolio of products designed for neurovascular intervention, vascular disease treatment, and robotic-assisted procedures.
Its commercially available product portfolios address critical gaps in stroke and vascular care, while its research and development pipeline continues to advance new technologies to improve treatment outcomes. By collaborating closely with physicians and emphasizing rapid innovation and clinical evidence, Imperative Care is expanding solutions that help clinicians diagnose, treat, and manage patients throughout their care journey.
Headquartered in Campbell, California, Imperative Care was founded by serial medtech entrepreneur Fred Khosravi and pioneering endovascular neurosurgeon L. Nelson "Nick" Hopkins, M.D., with a vision to develop technologies that make thrombectomy and other vascular interventions faster, safer, and more accessible.
Stroke Products
Imperative Care’s Zoom Stroke System is a comprehensive thrombectomy platform designed for rapid, effective clot removal in acute ischemic stroke treatment. The system integrates intracranial access, aspiration, and continuous dual aspiration technologies to assist physicians throughout the procedure, from vessel access to reperfusion. Designed to improve speed, reliability, and procedural efficiency, the Zoom platform supports treatment across a broad range of stroke interventions.
Vascular Products
Imperative Care’s Symphony® Thrombectomy System is a large-bore continuous vacuum thrombectomy platform designed for the treatment of venous thromboembolism (VTE). The system combines deep vacuum control with mechanical clot extraction technology to reduce clot burden efficiently while providing physicians with greater procedural control. Available in multiple catheter sizes, Symphony is engineered to improve access to distal anatomy, minimize clogging, and support faster, more precise thrombectomy procedures. It is also being evaluated in the Symphony-PE clinical trial for the treatment of acute intermediate-risk pulmonary embolism.
Endovascular Robotics Platform
Imperative Care is developing the Telos™ robotic platform, an endovascular robotics system designed to expand access to thrombectomy procedures for stroke patients. Currently in development, the platform is intended to improve procedural precision, standardization, and physician workflow while increasing access to timely stroke treatment. The Telos robotic platform has not yet been approved for clinical use or commercial sale.
