HeartBeam is a medical technology company developing advanced cardiac monitoring solutions designed to transform the detection and management of critical heart conditions. The company is creating the first cable-free device capable of collecting electrocardiogram (ECG) signals in 3D from three non-co-planar directions and synthesizing them into a 12-lead ECG. This platform technology is designed for portable devices that can be used wherever patients are located, providing actionable cardiac insights outside traditional healthcare settings.

HeartBeam’s 3D ECG technology enables physicians to identify cardiac health trends and detect acute conditions while helping guide patients toward appropriate care when needed. By bringing advanced ECG capabilities into portable, patient-friendly devices, the company aims to redefine cardiac health management through continuous and accessible monitoring. HeartBeam’s 3D ECG technology received FDA clearance for arrhythmia assessment in December 2024.

The Power of Personalized Insights

HeartBeam’s technology is designed to simplify access to synthesized 12-lead ECGs by capturing the heart’s electrical activity from three dimensions and transforming the signals into a 12-lead ECG using a personalized transformation matrix. Unlike traditional ECG systems that require patients to visit healthcare facilities, HeartBeam’s portable, cable-free technology enables patients to capture cardiac data wherever they are, particularly when arrhythmia symptoms occur.

By providing access to ECG data closer to the onset of symptoms, HeartBeam aims to help physicians evaluate cardiac conditions when timely assessment can be critical. The company’s technology supports the identification of arrhythmias, monitoring of cardiac trends, and detection of potential changes in heart health.

HeartBeam is also leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze cardiac data and develop tools designed to improve diagnostic accuracy, identify subtle changes in heart activity, and support more personalized cardiac care. The company’s platform technology has potential applications across extended-wear patches, wearable devices, continuous monitoring systems, and AI-based cardiac analysis solutions.

The foundation of HeartBeam’s technology was developed by Dr. Branislav Vajdic, the co-inventor of flash memory, in collaboration with a Harvard-Beth Israel cardiologist and two nuclear physicists. Protected by more than 20 issued patents, the company’s technology continues to support the development of next-generation cardiac monitoring solutions.

HeartBeam’s future applications include detecting complex arrhythmias and heart attacks, generating personalized cardiac assessments from longitudinal readings, and helping physicians monitor cardiac health over time. The company’s 3D ECG technology received FDA clearance for arrhythmia assessment in December 2024, while certain ischemia and AI-based products remain under development and are not currently available for sale in the United States.

Changing the Cardiac Care Paradigm

HeartBeam’s technology has been evaluated through clinical studies and peer-reviewed research focused on arrhythmia detection, heart attack assessment, artificial intelligence-based cardiac analysis, and synthesized 12-lead ECG reconstruction.

Clinical validation studies presented at the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) and American Heart Association (AHA) demonstrated that HeartBeam’s cable-free, portable synthesized 12-lead ECG technology can support arrhythmia assessment with performance comparable to traditional 12-lead ECG systems. Additional research published in JACC: Advances showed the potential of HeartBeam’s technology in identifying coronary artery occlusions, supporting its future application in remote cardiac assessment.

HeartBeam’s AI capabilities have also been evaluated for detecting conditions such as atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. Studies presented at leading cardiology conferences demonstrated the ability of the company’s deep learning algorithms to analyze vector-based ECG data and support cardiac rhythm assessment.

Peer-reviewed research published through IEEE validated key components of HeartBeam’s technology, including the reconstruction of 12-lead ECGs from 3-lead recordings using a personalized transformation matrix and methods for reducing ECG noise while preserving signal quality.

Certain ischemia-related products and HeartBeam AI remain under development and are not currently available for sale in the United States.
